The new Evernote lacks a lot of features, in particular AppleScript. I don’t know if this helps but I uninstalled the newer version of Evernote very soon after it was released and installed Evernote Legacy instead. Obviously, DT takes import and export options to a whole new level. I experimented with Eagle Filer which has a lot going for it, but the lack of an iOS app and the import of Evernote files into RTFD (which is a painfully idiosyncratic Mac format), among a few other issues, were dealbreakers. OneNote and Apple Notes would have locked me into PDF export only, which is useless. I have to give Evernote credit, it’s always been easy to get content out and into other apps like Apple Notes. It seemed rock solid to me, I haven’t noticed any issues in DT except for the superfluous groups / notes mentioned in this thread.

I did a few Evernote notebooks individually, then got more confident in DT’s capability and moved onto doing them in batches. From that menu you need to select the ‘Preferences’ option to bring up the preferences panel.Thank you for the welcome I simply used File -> Import -> Notes from Evernote. Open the Evernote application and click on the Evernote menu at the top of the screen. The screenshots below are captured from a Mac so it may look slightly different on a Windows machine. All this will do is disable that automatic formatting and all the options will still be available in the formatting box whenever you need them. This again is not what I expect to happen when I input that. The other thing it will do is turn dotted sections like this - in to diving lines. This could well be what you wanted but for me 99% of the time it isn’t. When you add a * or a – in front of some text it will suddenly create an indented and bulleted list. This bugged the heck out of me for a long time before I could be bothered to actually do something about it but its such an annoying little issue. I love Evernote and have used it for years but one thing I hate about it is that it constantly changes things to bulleted lists and dividing lines with it’s auto formatting.
